The residence must be left completely unoccupied. (Children, friends, or neighbors who have been permitted to reside inside the home will disqualify the home from this program.)
The security checks will be limited to no more than 14 consecutive days and not more than 30 days per year. The department will strive to check your homes on an average of once every 24 hours, workload permitting.
Reasonable efforts will be made to contact you or your designee in case of emergencies, but the Police Department assumes no liability if you or your designee are not reachable.
The Burleson Police strongly urges you to eliminate signs of absence. We recommend that:
You suspend newspaper service.
Have someone pick up circulars left in your yard.
Have someone mow your lawn (If you are gone an extended period of time.)
Put your lights on a timer.
Please notify the Police Department upon your return.
